Has anyone made a quilt with Moda's "Hill Country Spring" collection by Sentimental Studios?
I have a jellyroll, a charm pack, and a layer cake and am trying to figure out a good pattern. Here is a link to a picture of the fabrics. http://jellyrolls2go.com/hill-country-spring-711.html Am giving thought to a 9 block alternating with snowball block if I can get the fabrics to line up how I want... I'm thinking that I'm done with precuts for a while after I make this quilt... |
Very pretty fabrics! I like them. They will make a beautiful quilt.

Yes, and this will be a wedding gift to a good friend from that area in Texas-- She is 50 and getting married for the first time to her high school sweetheart!
So you see, this fabric is perfect! She is planning a spring 2011 wedding and hopefully when the bluebonnets are in bloom! When I saw this collection, I knew I had to get it and make her a quilt... SO...any ideas for a pattern for a new quilter? I have a couple of jellyroll pattern books but wondered if anyone else had used the fabrics and what they had done with them. |
I think the 9 patch/snowball idea would be fabulous with those fabrics - and not too difficult for a 'newbie' I would choose the fabrics for the snowballs first, with perhaps solid/tone on tone corners. Then when you make the 9 patches, use some of the solids in them also.

That will be like sleeping a meadow on a summers day - but without the insects! Lovely.

You could check http://www.modabakeshop.com for some ideas.
They have some nice patterns (free) for all the pre-cuts. |
Beautiful fabric! Will *have* to check it out.
OOOooohhhh, you're such an enabler! (At least that's what I'll tell hubby   ) |
