Moda Precuts - How long are they available?

I am brand new to the quilting world. I'm only on my second quilt, but there was a sale yesterday so I picked up supplies for my next couple projects... I may have been carried away a little.

Anyhow... I got a pattern for a quilt that called for one jelly roll and one layer cake. I picked up the jelly roll yesterday, but the store did not have the layer cake in the same pattern so I ordered it online this morning out of fear that I wouldn't be able to find it by the time I started on the quilt.

So, my question is... how long are Moda's precut packs produced?

Thanks!!

If you bought the jelly roll at a local quilt store, have them ask the Moda rep the next time he/she comes to the store or contact the company directly.

Depending on their popularity, they can be around for a month or more, or be gone within a matter of weeks. I generally buy a precut when I see it because you never know how long it will be around!

I think just like most fabrics they only make one run (however much they decide) then from that they have cut the pre-cuts that they want and when they are out at the warehouse they are out.

Forgot to mention that looking online is always a good idea. What was popular in one area won't be in another.

Okay, so I feel more justified in buying the layer cake online this morning. Thanks for the replies! Now if my hubby asks me why I needed to buy it now ($40 more after spending $184 yesterday!) I can say for sure that it was because it might not be around when I start the quilt.

(I'm having a baby in a few weeks, so the timing of my next quilt depends on life + newborn)

Oh, and I had noticed that on the "in stores now" fabrics page of Moda's site, they had a /month after the fabric names. The one I chose had a /Jul so I was thinking it might only have been produced during July. That is another thing that lead me to purchase it this morning out of fear it wouldn't be around much longer.

I like to get some yardage at the same time as my precuts for borders (or in case I change my mind before it actually becomes a quilt). Welcome to the board!
