Where in the world do I find a model number or serial number on a new home sewing machine. It is one of those in a cabinet and has the pedal on the side of the cabinet. I got the machine and no bobbins etc so need to find out more about it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Some people use the #15 bobbins and have no problem. I found that my machine was not happy unless I used the actual Janome bobbins. There is just a very slight difference. Hancock sells Janome machines and attachments, so try there. (Janome was New Home)
Good luck!!

Whoops! just took another look and saw the picture of the machine. Don't know about this one!!

That's a New Home Model 6 NLB. The serial number is on the bottom. I just bought one today!!! I can't believe it-she's my first antique! I got her with an original owners manual and box of feet and accessories! Just doing research on her right now. I paid $35 for mine-a deal? I think so!

Oh yeah a deal. Congrats. Yeah I knew it was a NLB. I had found the serial number on the bottom but still don't have much did find the manual though. Will probably ending up contacting Janome and see if they can be of any help.
