I use it ALL the time. Brand? I by big spools at shows and really haven't noticed any difference in them.
I use it on my with quilting needles, top stitch needles and smaller. It doesn't turn brittle anymore. It does have a stretch but that hasn't interfered. My most common use is for art quilts of course. But I do use it on adult bed quilts. and bags etc.
