I am machine quilting a wall hanging with Gutermann's invisible thread.
Can I machine wash the quilt, afterwards? What temp and cycle? Can I iron it? What setting? I can't find anything on the internet. Thanks! |
I've never used Gutermans. I use Prym-Dritz from Quilt in a Day. I've ironed over it with no problems. I wash all my quilts on cold and dry in a warm dryer. No problems with that either.

I don't know about ironing, but the thread washes fine in the washer. You probably need a low setting on the dryer. I would be real careful ironing it so it doesn't melt. Just be aware that whatever you're washing may shrink.
We would love to see what you're making! |

I actually like washing my quilts after quilting, instead of before. I like the shrunken look. LOL!
I don't actually iron the quilt but I sometimes run a quick iron around my binding, I find it makes it quicker/neater for me, when I sew it down. I will just be extra careful and do it on a lower setting. And I will dry on a low setting. Here is the wall hanging, prior to sandwich and quilting. I'll post it when I'm done. Thanks for your help! 204 2 in finished blocks surrounding the cross. It is quilting up beautifully |
WOW, that's beautiful! I love that you used wood grain for the cross and put blue all around it. Just beautiful!

Oh and you can't see it in the pictures but the outer blocks and border shimmer in gold.
I will post finished pictures at some point. |
Thanks!
