More About Hand Sewn Binding

I'm sewing binding to the back by hand and tacking down the mitered corners . Should I also tack down the front miters
?

When I hand sewed on bindings I tacked down bot sides of the corners.

I now only machine sew on bindings and I tack each corner as I go.

I have never seen the front side of a binding, sewn at the corners, just the back.

I think it's a personal choice. I do professional bindings and I tack down the corners on both sides, but that's just me.

If you're going to enter the quilt in a show, I would tack them down.

I do tack down both sides of the corner binding miter. I also put a knot in my thread when done to keep the corner tacking tight before I continue sewing the binding.

I'm another one that tacks down both sides.

I tack down both sides and I knot my thread about every 20 Stitches along the sides and at the corners.

I've done it both ways. For me it depends on how accurately I've sewn the the mitered corners on the front to begin with, lol. Those that I've machine sewn accurately to the front and have not tacked down come through the wash just fine.

I tack on both sides.

I tack down both sides also.
