I have these fabrics available, would one of them work better in place of the blue print in the block below?

As much as I like the chevron prints, I am not sure this would be the best place for them. I do like the batik. Maybe you can fold up a piece or cut one patch and lay it over the fabric you are thinking of replacing. Maybe that will help your decision making.

I don't think so. The two zigzags are very directional, which would make them difficult to work into the center (and I think would be distracting). The bottom floral does not have enough contrast to offset the brown in the center. I like the one you already have the best.

I like what you have already and the other fabrics as well. Maybe take some paper and lay the black fabric on top of each one of those fabrics to match the block design and see how it looks. Thats what I do sometimes.

I like the colors of the samples, but I think the zig zag would interfere. Batiks might be the answer in browns and blues for the center. If you want to stay with material you already have, I'd stay with your original choice so far :)

I don't think the chevrons would work either. Go with what you have or the other floral.

I would get rid of the blue - unless iit is needed to tie with some other fabrics. Definitely no to the other two fabrics. I like the block design and the other fabricsyou have in it.

I agree with the others that the zig zags wouldn't work as diamonds. You need a very small print or a solid or mottled print. I agree with bearisgray that it wouldn't have to be blue. You might audition some other fabrics. Fold the block into quarters and cover the fabric you want to replace with the replacement fabric.

Maybe a Batik with less blue in it?

If I remember correctly it's for yur daughter? Can't you ask her? If she loves your first block, the problem is solved, right? :-)
