Dritz (blue). Amazing tip that gets under the smallest stitches and a great handle.

Several years ago, I won a trip to a major quilt show that included $200 cash. I purchased a Martelli mat, rotary cutter & strip cutter. Still have the mat - I use it as a measuring stick under my Olfa mat. Gave the rotary cutter & strip cutter away. Also have the useless lighted seam ripper. Those are just a few of my regretted purchases but will probably fall for something else in the future. What can I say, I'm a gadget girl!

I would say my newest ruler. My favorite 6 x 24 was getting a nick on one corner, so I thought I'd get another. It's a different brand and is 6 1/2 wide. Throws me off. Wish I had not bought it. Feel like I wasted money.

I have this one too and it has a very sharp point that I like. I do, however, agree about the round handle. I have to place it strategically so that it doesn't roll off the surface.

Need to let Fons and Porter know. Everyone wants and needs feedback to improve or discontinue the product. I tried a friends and choose not to order. Besides who needs another when you have 5. I some times use an exacto knife. Barely touch the thread and there you go.

I had a problem with the Fons and Porter seam ripper I bought a couple of months ago. I emailed F and P with a question....and have never received a response from them!

I agree with charsuewilson. Most frustrating are rulers that move. Why should we pay big money for a tool then have to pay more to modify it so it works right? And even after modification they don't work well for very long. Thank you, Creative Grids. They really did it right.

As for seam rippers, I love the Clover ripper that is white with a black band. The handle is large enough to hold onto, the black band is soft enough to help prevent slipping in the hand, and the tip is quite fine and sharp. Someday I really should throw away all the other seam rippers that I don't use.

Because of my aging eyes I tried the ripper with a magnifer on iet. Not good, the magnifiyer just got in the way so I took it off.

My most frustrating notion? The Grabbit Pin Place. It's a suction cup with a magnet on it and it is supposed to suction to your sewing machine. I got it so I could have my scissors on the left side, since I'm left-handed and always had to reach over to the right side of the machine for the scissors. Well, no matter how many ways I tried it, the suction cup would simply not stick! So now it is sitting to the right of my machine, holding my self-threading needles, and my scissors are still on the right-hand side of my machine.

I use the same thing and get a new one when it gets dull. I also like the Dritz .. never had any problems with it.
