MSQC rhombus start quilt

Hello... I saw where MSQC had the star quilt pattern using the rhombus template

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h17ta6t_K-8

The video is using the large template. Do you know if MSQC has a video for using the small rhombus template? Jenny mentions the small template in this video but no directions are given

I can probably figure it out on my own, but I prefer directions if I can find them :)

I found this set on Amazon:

I forgot to add:
Measure the distance of the parallel sides of the tool. Thisshould be the width of the fabric to cut the rhombus.

they seem to have two or three patterns but so far i can't tell if they are for the larger template or smaller or both. i have one template but have yet to use it.

Wouldn't the instructions be the same no matter the size of the rhombus?

Geri B I was thinking the same thing. I remember watching the video and seeing how she came up with the size to cut her material....would think the same applies to the small template.

Forgot to add, that I'm the same about wanting directions to be clear , just thinking if one rule of thumb pertains that it should be easy to figure out.

I made a half star using the rhombus for a border. It's a nice template to have.

I can agree with this except for the size of the strip to cut. I always amaze myself how I can mismeasure and mess things up ha ha

I appreciate everyone's thoughts on this sometime I will get the courage to try it. I will just use scraps first.

I'm pre kitting the Star Rhumbus quilt to take to retreat. It is easy to sew without having to concentrate a lot on it. It makes a dramatic quilt using red white and blue for the stars.

I think the instructions would be the same as far as putting them together. i just wondered which size template was required for the patterns. couldn't see that on their site.

if you watch the tute, see how she sets the template onto the strip and that will tell you how wide to cut your strips for the small version....

I was thinking the same thing. I think I have the large template and will make the tumbling blocks quilt she made using this template. I'll have to look and see if I have it. I've always wanted to make the tumbling blocks but just didn't want to fool with 'y' seams.

I would go to the MSQC website and do a search or leave a message.
