MSQC thread ?
 

I bought it a long time ago and generated LOTS of lint in bobbin area. Do you use it and is the cotton tread still linty.

Haven't used this thread, but if the lint bothers you, spray a good dose of silicone on the cone or reel. It should help a lot, and doesn't harm the fabric or machine.

I received a gift of a set of MS poly thread. I use it with no problems. I would buy it again if I needed more. I have tried the cotton and don't remember it causing problems. After a class with Sharon Schamber, I soak all my cotton spools before use in mineral oil so lint isn't much of a problem. She soaks poly and cotton threads.

Please explain more about soaking in mineral oil?

I had a spool of thread from MSQC and used it without any problems. Used for piecing and some quilting.

For soaking the thread, i pour mineral oil in a plastic deli leftover container, roll the thread in it until all the thread is saturated. Sharon soaks her spools over night. Take it out and drain on paper towels or blot it and use immediately. The thread is lubricated, goes through the machine like butter. The oil will not be oily or leave oil on fabric. My machine repairman says my machine looks pristine on the inside. Here is a link to more talk about it.: Sharon Schamber is a master quilter, who use to be in the high end fashion sewing business. I was at Paducah quilt show some years ago when Sharon Schamber was entering quilts to the show circuit now and then. One well known quilter who usually wins many shows told me Sharon set the bar for masterpiece quilts. She said Sharon will win any quilt she enters and always deserves it. I feel lucky to have been able to see Sharon Schamber's quilts in person.

Does the colour of the thread change? I've looked at this option and I'm intrigued but no one has been able to answer the colour change question.

Not a big difference in color that I noticed when sewing with it. Sometimes I will drop the oil on the spool and let it sink in. I put a few drops on prewound bobbins. It may not be to other's liking.
