? on Mug Rug battings

Just wondering what you all use for the batting in your mug rugs. Does one layer of Insulbrite work for a batting or do you use both batting and insulbrite or just batting. Thank you for any advice you can offer. I have done both ways and not sure which is better. Appreciate your input.

I just use regular batting. Your coffee must be really hot!

I use scrap pieces of regular batting. Sometimes I fuse two pieces together with fusible tape to make the right size.

Anniedeb 03-02-2018 09:35 AM

I just use regular batting also. Great way to use up batting scraps!

Kitsie, Rhonda K and Anniedeb, Wonderful, thank you so much. As a senior I am able to sell items in our little shop and wanted to be sure I was making them marketable.

Your only need Insulbrite if you're making pot holders or trivets. Regular batting works for mug rugs.

Thanks tesspug. Will be making more now that I have the expert advice from you ladies.

Yup, I agree with all of the above. Have fun!

Batting works, but I use Bosall as it doesn’t shrink or create and uneven surface that some battings do.

I use scraps of Warm and Natural. I save my insulbrite for hot pads and potholders.
