I fused Pelon 987 to the backside of each layer, it gives a stiffer look and feel to the finished rugs.

Forgive my ignorance but what is a rug mug?

A mug rug is kind of a large coaster, big enough for a mug of coffee or cocoa and a snack. If you do a search, you will see a lot of really nice ones, like mini-mini quilts.

I use a layer of scrap batting and a layer of thinsulate in mine. I wanted to make sure my tables were protected from heat as well as spills.
If you follow this link it will lead you to numerous postings and photos all about mug rugs. HTH http://www.quiltingboard.com/search....ug+rugs&u=&s=0 |

I'm cheap! I use the warm and natural scraps that I got from WalMart. I buy what I need and then I use what is left for my mug rugs.
