I see these mug rugs, and can't help but wonder.....

Are these just like coasters, or are they to be warmed to keep the mug warm?

They are cute and I'm guessing quite easy to make, just wondering how to properly make them for their intended purpose...

Just something to set your mug on to protect furniture or for decoration. :-)

How about changing them up a bit to look like oriental rugs, and make in sets of 4? To put underneath wingback chairs on hardwood floors! Don't forget the fringe on each end! About the size of an index card - saw these once and they were adorable, never forgot them.

Now this is a clever idea :D:D:D

Mug rugs can be the size of a coaster, or large enough for a mug and small plate too :D:D:D

I put a little bit of Maine balsam in my mug mats. Smells like Christmas all year.
