I'll be very pleased to exchange musical instrument photos with you. Lots of good luck to you.

How long ago did you download the trumpet from the embroidery site? I'll have to check into it since I have seen very few that are as realistic as this one is. I keep seeing great ideas for his quilt but I really must get going on it or he will graduate before he ever gets it.

Hi and welcome.

Thank you very much for your input. I am in the process of collecting patterns for my quilt with a musical theme. Before I get started on the quilt I decided to make a needlepoint pillow using guitars for the decorations. As a first step I just copied three different guitars from photos onto a canvas. My grandson actually made one of the guitars and it came out great.

My husband is a guitarist and most of his guitars are hand built. I told him I'd like to make him a quilt to match the guitar he was having built. He mentioned it to the luthier, who sent me a template of the guitar body, neck and headstock, with all the details marked on it. He even sent me one of his mother-of-pearl logos so that I could include it. Unfortunately, my husband sold the guitar before I could find the fabric to make the quilt (try matching blond wood with fabric <LOL>). But I still have the template and will someday make the quilt.

Yeah! The trumpets are still available. Found one that was absolutely perfect for what I wanted. Thanks for the link, it is now bookmarked.
