Today's ad has 12 yds of 60" wide 'Roc-Lon" muslin (the bolt) for $24.99. Both bleached and unbleached. It sounds like it would be good for some backings, and also for making practice sandwiches. (I'm determined to improve my freemotion quilting!) Is this a good buy, and if so, would you suggest the bleached or unbleached? Thanks!

They carry different thickness/weights of it...without feeling/seeing it I don't know...

I agree with Amma, they have some AWESOME stuff there, and some cheaper stuff thats nearly cheesecloth.....

Roc Lon muslin is one of the better grades, I use the unbleached for backing, and usually pay $5 per yd for the 108 wide...so, a fair price. Does it have free delivery?

Be sure to preshrink it before using it.

Even if it says "pre-shrunk" on the end of the bolt.

According to the flyer, this is available in the stores!! I haven't bought it before so I was wondering the same thing, good buy or not?

It comes to $2.083 per yard. What is the regular price of the muslin? That's how I determine if something is a good buy or not.

I use Roc Lon muslin, both bleached and unbleached, in my quilts and have been very happy with it.

I like the idea of buying a bolt to practice long arm quilting on. I might do that myself!
