My arms are falling off!!

I have a beautiful pattern here. Well, not knowing it had hundreds and I mean hundreds of HST's I dove in.
Omg, I think I'm going to throw it all out the window lol.

I won't name the designer because I adore her but right now not so much...........

I use bloc locs to square them up. But this is unending.

Anyone know of an easier way for next time?

Just thought- maybe papers would have been the way to go. ( the ones on those rolls.)

I have not used Thangles, I'm guessing that's what you are referring to. I know some people swear by them. I have seen a technique where you can make multiple hst at a time but it does not eliminate trimming/ squaring up.

You probably don’t want to purchase another ruler but… the quilt in a day ruler trims the HSTs before you press them open so you only cut twice. There are dog ears to contend with but I find they snip off quickly.

My Frog project I have in the Virtual Quilting Weekend had us make the HST in the 8 at a time method. As usual, I added just a bit more fabric and kept the proportions the same so I could trim them down to size. Here's a site with pretty good instructions:

You can make the grids even bigger if you have a lot of HST, any time I am making 8 or more of a combination I typically draw a grid. Usually though, my scrappy self says must use more fabrics!

Clearly Slotted Triangles ruler has changed the way I square up hsts. I don't have to open them to square up. It saves so much time. I use the block lock ruler when I press open then square.

Set yourself a nice number of triangle units to do a day. Switch this project with another easier one to pace yourself. It isn’t good for your body to work at a repetitive exercise too long.

I have those. Forgot of course!
And Tartan- you're right. I'm just so frustrated I want them done. ( impatient girl here )

Not thangles but the same thing really, just can't think of the name. They come on a roll.
Thanks for the link.

Sorry Sue, I don't have any advice for ya. I've not heard of the "bloc locs," "Clearly Slotted Triangles," or "thangles" before. I'm gonna have to look them up. I love the idea of squaring up the square while still folded up. Good idea! Thanks for those tips everyone.

I do go the paper route when making a huge number of HSTs.
