I've made lap quilts for my mom and sisters, so my brother asked me to make him one. He said it needed to be bigger (he's a big guy), and he likes reds. Everything else was up to me, so I made him this Double Irish Chain with the seminole border. This pattern goes together pretty quickly and only uses three fabrics. I also backed it in the red.

It's so hard to come up with a man's quilt that's not plaid or about hunting --- I am going to steal your idea if that's OK by you.
|
Oh I love those colors. He's gonna love it.

Very pretty. I really need to make one for my brother, too....

He's going to love it! I really like how you designed it. Usually the chains end at the sides in the diamond shapes. I love how you ended it with them so that the X shape is dominate. Great twist on an old favourite!

That's gorgeous Angie! I have been pondering how to use calico prints in a way that didn't scream feminine. You nailed it!
|
