My dog ate my pattern.. no seriously! argh!

I had a pattern for a lap size postage stamp quilt from the board and had my quilting stuff on the table and my pattern must have fallen on the floor. I am still working on figuring out this new board layout. What is the best way for me to try and find it again!? Yikes. It had white pattern to it but thats all I really remember. Darn it!!!!

Go toward the top of the page to the blue line and click on "advanced search." go down to "keyword" and type in "postage stamp quilts" then click on "search now." That should bring up a list of threads and you might find the one you are looking for. Good luck!

bstock 11-16-2011 10:47 AM

is this it?

No that wasnt it but that one is gorgeous. Maybe I will switch it out so that I can have it done before Christmas haha. :) The one that I had picked out.....the placement created a white star like pattern that I will never be able to do on my own LOL.

Can you draw out the pattern on graph paper?
Atleast it wasn't your home work he ate *wink* :) :) :)

NorBanaquilts 11-16-2011 11:39 AM

momto4 11-16-2011 11:52 AM

LOL ya he already did that to my son. He actually brought in the pieces to his teacher to show that there really were dog teeth marks and stuff on it. She thought it was hilarious and let him redo it lol. I guess there could be some truth to that excuse!!

I dont know...im not that good at that sort of thing, but my DH probably could. Maybe ill try to rope him in when he gets home tonight haha. Luckily our DD is only 3 weeks old so I can still use the "9 months of carrying our baby girl" and the hour upon hour of pain in labor excuse to get things done mwahahaha :D

momto4 11-16-2011 12:14 PM

Oh crap I didnt even think about that! If Copper doesnt approve maybe I need to switch the pattern ;) hehe. He usually gives final approval...I guess he didnt even need to get to that stage before he said no. I still love it though so he will have to learn to love it too hahaha

Glad you found that quilt = cause I love it too.....

NJ Quilter 11-16-2011 03:42 PM

I can't tell you how many things my dogs have eaten! The worst was the check register. At least he only at the balance side and I still had all the check info and could re-create with a bit of pain. The funniest was in the days we rolled coins. He would eat the wrappers and you'd find 'puddles' of coins all over the floor. Oh, and about 3-4 watches between a couple of the dogs. Jeez.

My Westie once got a hold of my Fons & Porter QUILTER'S COMPLETE GUIDE. He dragged it off the table. He did NOT LIKE being left alone at home !!!

lillybeck 11-17-2011 07:24 AM

LOL I am not laughing at you it just reminded me of a time that my son worked on his math paper for hours and when he got up the next morning discovered that the dog ate it. I had to write a note and the teacher called me because she did not believe him.

kacklebird 11-17-2011 09:16 AM

Taino Jan 11-17-2011 09:40 AM

onaemtnest 11-18-2011 05:52 AM

Be sure and post your quilt, are you using the same color way? So glad you found the pattern!

EmbQuilt 11-18-2011 06:02 AM

I can't get passed that you have a 3 week old and have the energy to sew!!!! Do you have a nanny and a maid? Lol

mollymunchkin 11-18-2011 07:06 AM

My dogs don't eat paper, they just pee on it :0

gramto2 11-18-2011 07:10 AM

Glad you found it! The dog is saved........... this time.

My nieces dog ate about 200.00 she had left in a pile on the stairs for a fund raiser for her sons school.

Their yard was full of pieces of $$$$$$$$$$$$

No mater what I'm making - I make a copy of the pattern on my copy machine and put the original in the file - or stack of books, etc. BEFORE I start to cut the first piece - that way I can make notes all over my copy as I'm sewing and it helps with LOTS of organization - for me at least. The original is always safe and sound..............works for me at least.

That is one funny dog! Sorry you lost your pattern tho.

Grandma58 11-18-2011 09:46 AM

Hahaha dont I wish!!! No. I just had an ExTREMELY rough pregnancy with extreme morning sickness, ivs, and bed rest the whole works!! So I didnt even look at a pattern or sewing machine for almost the entire 9 months. Once I had her and the sickness was gone I brought it all back out almost immediately I was in withdrawls! ;) I am still tired and make a million more mistakes than I normally would (so my stitch ripper is getting a work out) but I couldnt NOT do it anymore! hehehe

I had a customer who cashed her disability check, left the money on the table, and when she came back her Autistic son had flushed all the cash down the toilet. She started making $20/month payments and my boss graciously wrote of the balance. It would be hard to make up a story that sad!

My pregnancies were like that. I usually weighed less after giving birth than before or only needing to lose a pound or two.
I am glad that you are back to sewing again.
