My embroidery machine died....

2009 baby lock Ellageo. From what I understand it's the computer so I'm not going to bother I'm just buying another one.
But I was wondering if anybody buys or uses old parts, pieces?? I hate to just toss it but if it's no good, it's no good.

Your Babylock dealer may give you some credit on a new machine, for your old machine for parts.

I know this feeling I have a Brothers machine that has a computer problem and is not working. It is not the Ellageo though. I have been told once the computer has a problem the machine is no good. I just haven't had the heart to throw it away yet. Time for another one for me too.

I just took my Bernina in for a new mother board, rather pay 900 than several thousands. He offered me an updated used machine for the same price but admitted it could have the same problems in a couple years. I am used to my embroidery machine and have tons of patterns so I will go with a repair.

You will love the new features and functions on embroidery machines. I don't know if the hoops would be compatible or not. Go for a couple of demos on different machines and then decide.

Have fun!

I am in your corner...my 2002 Brother ULT is in a closet because I just can't give it up-- I loved sewing on it rather than emb. It goes off & on and dealer/ repair said power supply unit. But everything works, and it stays on to sew when lying on its back. I can't sew upside down, lol, but I can't toss it either. I have 2 more ULTS and an ELLAGEO - all are approx same generation, so all their parts are interchangeable. I will def save this 2002!

Not sure who may be helped by this.... but...I took this machine into the repair shop to ask him if they wanted to use it for old parts. They checked it out and said it works fine! I said no I turned it on and it just goes beep and then beep and then beep. He said do you have it plugged into a power cord? I said yes. He said that's the problem. I plugged it into the wall and he was right. So if anyone else has a few problems that you might think it's the computer on your machine, try plugging it into the wall.

Death of a machine? Been there. So sorry. I will have a brownie bite in sympathy.https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/frown.png

I have had two older machines that the motherboards died. Repairman said not worth repairing for the cost as only warranted for ninety days for replacement even though the board was warranted for more. Both were not thousand dollar machines so no big deal. I tossed both in dumpster both times. Repairman didn't want them for parts. I don't keep anything that is broken just to sit in a closet.
