If your seams are puckering while using the light weight fabric, try using a smaller needle and lighter weight thread. Thanks for showing the glue basting. That's a neat and simple trick.

I had thought of that, before sewing any seams, and changed to the smallest needle that I had available. Yet, still had the problems. But thank you for this tip and suggestion. It definetely never hurts to remind me to change my needle!!! At the same time, I am really rather glad that it did not make a difference. If it had, I would not have had the experience with the glue and could not have started this great post that has given me and others the chance to learn so many fun and exciting things about the glue. LOL.

Sharon Schamber use to have a video on making a glue basting container from Elmer's Washable School Glue and a pen point, but has since removed the video. However a Blogger has copied the method and it is shown here.

I watched the video from Sharom and wondered where she got the nice fine tip for her Elmer's Glue - does anyone have a clue? I have a bottle of Roxanne's (well I really have two) - I have used it for applique and like it, never thought about using it for bindings - but it looks like Elmer's would work just as nicely and probably much cheaper ...

Sewbeeit42, just posted a link to a site that shows exactly how to make a tip. Plus, others have posted their methods. Elmers really does work fabulously for bindings, appliques, seams, and basting a whole quilt.

Like margecam52 suggested - it does help if you pin your seams from left to right. I started doing that because I use one of those metal seam guides (the kind you screw down) and you can't use it when the pins are sticking out on the right side. Besides I can sew a whole seam before I stop to take out the pins.

With my Singer, I know I can sew over the pins and not cause any damage. So, it is very easy to forget to remove them as I go along. Yet, with the glue on the seams, I will not have to worry about that again.
