I was considering one of the Clover irons, but kept hesitating. After someone posted the idea of making an ironing board out of a TV tray, I came up with another money saving idea! I had purchased, many years ago, a small travel ironing board and a travel iron. I've discovered, the ironing board fits perfectly next to my machine and I LOVE the iron -- it never turns off on its own and it is hotter than my other "cheap" iron. To remember to turn it off, I connected it to a surge protector. I look in the room before going anywhere or to bed, and if the light is on, I switch it off.

Unfortunately, the iron I purchased isn't available anymore....BUT, here's a page of irons: http://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&node=602618

In researching -- looking for a picture of the iron and ironing board I ran across this: http://www.lehmans.com/store/Home_Go...rid=googlebase It's perfect (I think) and is only $15.00!!!! Notice the note on it says the grid is NOT on it anymore. DARN!

I found a small steam iron at a thrift shop for $2, that presses with steam. No metal on it anywhere. The bottom of the iron is plastic. It's the best for pressing blocks. It shuts off immediately and comes back to steam in seconds. OSROW "STEAMSTRESS" made in 1973. Ebay has some pretty cheap.
