my first art panel
 

I made my first art panel after watching a class on craftsy. Debating on mounting it on a canvas for a wall hanging. I was wondering if I made one without the beads and just the ribbons and cording how well it would wash to use as a lap quilt.[ATTACH=CONFIG]453024[/ATTACH]

I love your art panel! You did a great job. If you pre shrink your ribbons, rick rack, and cording, I think you could make a lovely, washable lap quilt.

This is a new idea to me, but I sure like it. Looks like fun!!

It's different andI don't think I would do a lot of them, but a few here and there would be fun. You use a lot of stitches and ribbons, yarns, buttons. I did it since I had a bunch of stuff hanging around that I don't use. It came out better then what I thought it would. I think I will mount it on a board and hang for a while than donate it. I would like to do one without the buttons and use more yarns and ribbons of a placemat.

I like your art quilt. Making an art quilt is something I want to learn.

Love your art quilt. You might replace the beads with rounded "pearl" buttons for fun. Would you really have to pre-wash the rick rack?...I remember my mom using it on dresses, dish towels, etc. and never pre-washing. I'd be more worried about the dye in some of the other fibers. May you could substitute cotton yarns and ribbons. Regardless, it is gorgeous!
