Do I start in the middle and go out or do I start on one side and go to the other? Also is it ok not to quilt over the actual pictures? I don't want to mess them up. I am concerned that if I only stitch in the ditch they will puff out. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I do have a picture attached.

Hi, I have a large t-shirt quilt that I'm getting ready to quilt and I had the same questions but I don't plan on quilting thru the designs.I think I will do SID and then quilt around the outside of the design like someone else mentioned. Will post a picture when I get it done, but that won't be very soon.

Well thanks everyone. I decided to just go around the design and around each block. The lady I made it for loves it. It made me so happy to see her face when I unfolded it. It was worth it.
Dina, Thanks. You should make yourself a memory quilt. It was not hard at all. Of course I did not do too much detail. And the invisible thread is a pain. I guess I need to practice with it.
Debbiecharlie, Spring is by Houston. A few hours away from Dallas. When you do decide to do a t-shirt quilt I do have to say it is not hard. Just make sure to stabilize the t-shirts. Now I did cut them then put the stabilizer so I did not wast too much. (I am from Bayou Blue. It is by Houma)
Lakekids, You quilt is beautiful. I am just learning stippling so I did not want to mess up her quilt. I will be doing another for her and will try it on that one. I was just so unsure.
Allisonquilts, Thanks. I decided not to go over the logos. I just went around. I will try something different one the next one. I so enjoyed making that quilt.
Cindy30545, I did try to stipple around the designs and it just looked too busy. So I ripped it and just went around the blocks and then around the designs. It seemed to work.

Thanks all again.
MaryC, Yes. I did use the interfacing on them. And yes I am hooked. I don't have a long arm I just used my regular machine. I have been wanting to try and thought I needed someone to show me. I guess you can do what ever you put your mind to. And with a lil help here and from the internet. lol
rosimone, I never tied so I don't know how. I will try it on one quilt one day.
Taughtby Grandma, Thanks, I had a horrible time with the invisible thread. I will have to check to see what size it is. I vowed to never use it again. I will practice with it. I used it in the top thread and the bottom. I don't know if that was a issue.
