I am an ardent fan of Leah Day and her videos in fact at the end of the month with some money I have coming in I am going to buy her first book n DVD. In the meantime I am learning from her free videos on her website: http://www.daystyledesigns.com/articles.htm#freemotionquilting

With me making my personalised bedding I thought it would be an ideal project to practise and improve my FMQ. Here are my results so far for http://freemotionquilting.blogspot.com/2009/08/day-13-wandering-clover.html:

Now I am doing this one: http://freemotionquilting.blogspot.com/2009/08/day-5-basic-spiral.html

My first quarter is terrible but I am hoping by the finish of the quilt I will have it mastered http://bestsmileys.com/fingers/1.gif

Wish me luck :-D

Thanks for sharing the web site. I am learning too and she has some great designs. It helps to see the hands on videos. I'm a new fan. I like what you have done!

Looks great to me.... now only if I could get my hands and brain to function at the same time.

Great that you are going so well with this- I love the clover one in particular- I would like bedding like that!

Leah Day is great, isn't she? I have got some inspiration from her (and at the moment am particularly thankful for her suggestion to not drop the dogs, but just shorten the stitch)

Would love to hear your views on her book/DVD when you buy it. I am tempted myself (but trying not to impulse buy yet another quilting aid- I seem to spend so much already....)
