My goals for 2021

Really, I was thinking about what I wanted to accomplish in 2021. Looking at my 2020 list, I didn’t finish anything? I count 14 projects. Have added 3 more. So, I picked one of my projects in a bag aka PIGs. Or projects half done aka PHD. Or yet again unfinished projects aka UFOs. I slid out the bin, spread out all my pieces and sewed a few seams. Just can’t seem to find the pattern. So, I did the only thing I could, I started a new project. LOL.

Sure sounds like me! That’s why I gave up making quilt resolutions

I did the same thing yesterday. I opened a kit that I bought a year ago only to discover it is short some of the fabric. I probably will not be able to find the necessary fabric to finish it since it is that old. Bummer.

I'm not going to start any new projects until I finish ones that at least some of them have been waiting at least 3 years. LOL

My goal for 2021....staying alive!

My mother taught me to finish one project before I start another. I've changed that to one type of project (traditional, more or less, quilting on Tin Lizzie, crocheting edges of polar fleece on charity blankets and learning to use alcohol inks). The truth is, I've gotten really good at procrastinating.

I am working on one quilt now and have two more, maybe three. After those I want to make as many donation quilts as I can before November.

I've been cleaning my sewing room since Jan 1. Now I'm on day 5. I think I need one more day, maybe 2. What a job! But I know I'm going to be happy when it's all done. I have 3 large bags for donation and tons of junk to go in the trash. I'm pooped! :)

Susie, I bet you are pooped! It is a time consuming job and making all those decisions. You will have to show a picture when finished.

I've been bitten by the "magazine boards" bug. That is my organization goal. Congrats to those that are finished. It's a workout!

My goals for 2021 are simple. Make more quilts. Us as many of my Accuquilt dies as possible. Not to buy another die until I have used each one I have now. I have 42 now and have use 19 so far. Long way to go.

craftiladi 01-08-2021 08:01 AM

juliasb.....YES YES! every year I say I am going make more quilts but the ufo's clog my brain-I need to finally make this the year I get rid of the UFO's. I have already gone through them & given some away that no longer interest me.
Like so many others I have been bitten by the Accuquilt addiction.....they had some great sales during the holidays and now it's time to actually use them. Crossing my fingers my sewing mojo doesn't desert me like it did last year.

Come to the Challenges board & join the UFO Challenge for 2021. There, we can list some or all UFOs & share progress on any of them. People are very encouraging, & many have whittled down their collections of UFOs.

I am going to do what I enjoy in quilting, try to stay healthy and hope the vaccine gets to us sooner than later. https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/wink.png

Onebyone 01-10-2021 09:24 AM

Most of the smaller pharmacies here are giving the vaccine to anyone if there are shots left from a vial. The vial has a life of 6 hours and then has to be discarded. If no one on the phase one list is available then anyone can have the shot. All the employees at the grocery stores that have pharmacies have gotten it from the leftovers. I don't know why some rather see the vaccine discarded then give it to someone who will get it anyway. My neighbor got hers by being at the pharmacy at the right time.
