What a wonderful thing to do. I have no doubt that God placed you there at just the right time!

what a great day for you and your dh. The mother and kids won't ever forget how a stranger helped them. By the way my grandmother has the same Annalee's (hopefully spelt right!). Have fun with all that fabric!

You and your husband are simply wonderful and I totally agree that you get what you give in different ways. Your fortune came because of your generosity. Merry Christmas to you both.

lucky you and a heartfilled story. It is hard for a lot of families this year. this will be the first time we did not go overboard for the great neices and great great nephews. for one great neice I collected toys and clothes from GW cleaned them up so they will have a great day. others would not have used stuff for their babes, and others are doing ok, struggling but finding what is important in life.
As for our DD , she understands and will get a special charm. + things she needs for living. DH will get somethings we need at home. And for me I have collected fabric and quilt stuff from GW all year and have a huge box of stuff from DH>
LOL

How wonderful you both are !! I bet that mother was just beside herself ! and the children ? they should have the presents under the tree no matter what their parents situation, if at all possible.
I can remember when I was a very young child a policeman came by and dropped off presents for us, then a fireman came in and brought us Christmas dinner, a feast which my mother made last for days. She was very ill (and later found out it was cancer) and was on welfare, had no monies and didn't know what we would do for christmas that year.
Thank goodness for the help-it was clothing, food and a warm house for Christmas, we were happy and together that is what mattered to us.
