Perhaps consider adding "Hayloft is Closing" to the title of this thread? I almost didn't read it because I have enough heartbreak and difficulties of my own right now.

We all hate closures. Our full ervice quilt store in Las Cruces NM is closing due to these lease not being renewed. One of the owners has a sick family member and is moving to be with her. It is very sad, El Paso does not have a LQS.

OH NO, If this is what is known as progress IT STINKS !! I'm so sorry. I hope something comes up to make that plan change so you can stay.

I am so sorry. Have never been there as I live too far and never been east, but it sounds like a place I would have fallen in love with. Hope something will work out for them to relocate or something like that.

Very sad.

Bingo.

I am from NYC, but I know the Hayloft, and whenever I am out in that area, my quilting friends and I head to the Hayloft! I'm sooo sorry to hear that it is closing! Does the grocery store own the fabric and quilt supplies?
Couldn't the contents be moved and a new name like Hayloft revisited be used? I'm not clear how these things work.

The store is owned by a grocery store, and making money, but they're closing it anyway? That just doesn't make sense! Maybe a letter writing campaign is in order? A thought though...Is the discount store going to be selling fabric? Could they have stipulated in order to make the sale that the present fabric store couldn't stay open?

Which quilt shop is that? I often go to some quilt shops in Amish country when we drive out to WV to see our daughter.

The fabric of our lives is so much more than a piece of cloth. Choose to believe that the family that has been built out of this store will continue, perhaps in another form, in another place. I feel your pain.

Wishing for a miracle!
