My honey bought me a present!

Actually, I asked for them. We went to Lowes and got me some soft knee pads to wear while I'm crawling around on our tile floor sandwiching a quilt. The outside of them is rubberized, so I can also use them in the yard without ruining them.

They are a wonderful tool! You might find other uses for them that you have not thought about yet, too. They come in very handy when it's time to clean out your bottom cabinets.

My husband bought a set of those when he was roofing - saved his knees. I can't get on my knees anymore due to surgeries. Isn't it amazing what quilting tools we have!

Great idea! I can feel the relief already.:)

Goo for you! Protect the body parts you can!!!

What a great idea! I fell a few weeks ago and really bruised my left knee--to the point that I still cannot kneel on it without pain. I am going to look for a pair of knee pads. Thanks!

What a good idea, I hadn't thought about using them. Pretty smart.

I wear my knee pads for working on the floor sandwiching my quilts. Out of all the padding I have, my knees are sure boney.

DonnaC 08-14-2013 07:11 PM

That's a great idea - another I never would have thought of! (Tartan, you are hysterical...I feel the same way... bony knees and elbows I can feel, but what happened to the rest of me??!)

Oh, I forgot to mention that I asked a clerk where they were and she took me to them. There were at least 15 different styles to choose from. When I said I wanted to use them while sandwiching a quilt, she looked at me and said "You quilt?" Then started telling me about the quilts she's made and helped me to pick the most comfortable ones. It was amazing and fun to find a fellow quilter at Lowe's when I needed one :)

That sounds like a wonderful idea!!!

Well, I tried my new knee pads. Why did I wait so long yo get them? They were great. Made getting down on my knees really easy. Now I no longer have to dread sandwiching my quilts.

They are great! My big trouble is remembering to put them on first before I'm in pain. These little jewels are good for so many things. Never knew we were on our knees so much. Need two pairs though...inside and out....They should come in pink...LOL

knee pads don't even help me now. I have 2 long folding tables I put up to do my sandwiching of the quilts on. then i can put them away when done no sore knees. yard work has to be where no knee work comes in play.

I had knee surgery on one knee so it is hard to get on one knee, wish they made butt pads as that is how I have to sit if I do it on the floor. I also use tables and sometimes our queen size bed which I put the folded cardboard we use to use for sewing. As you can see I have a hard time throwing sewing items away

Reminds me of when I was working and one of the guys had to kneel on grating to do a job. He asked me to for two sanitary pads from the bathroom. He tied them around his knees. Poor guy was the sight of the day but he saved his knees. Knee pads for all workers were bought not long after that. LOL

I can't get on my knees because I NEED surgeries! I've used pillows but never the knee pads. I need to get some.
