my juki 2010 just locked up wheel will not turn
 

my juki 2010 has locked up on me. I cleaned and oiled it and it was working good. Now I cannot even turn the wheel. I took out the bobbin and checked to see if a thread was caught but it was clean. I cannot get the bobbin holder out to check it. The machine just makes a humming noise. I love this machine hope I can fix it anyone have any suggestions.

You can remove the wheel. Check for a screw. There could be thread caught up in there. It happened to me. I still can't figure how all that thread got in there ...

I would take the bobbin case out and re-insert into the machine. You can try the hand-wheel while the case is out. Does it move?

Next question for you. Not sure if this applies to your machine. I have brother/BL machines.

Was there a small round magnet under the bobbin case area? Make sure it went back in place.

Take the presser foot off and remove the needle plate. Look down into the bobbin area from the top and see if you can see any thread wrapped around the hook. Use tweezers and a seam ripper to remove any thread tangles.

I had the same thing happen today. It turned out to be thread caught up Under the feed dogs. I took the plate off to clean the feed dogs and there was a little piece of thread. I could't pull it out so I kept digging around it and a big glob of balled up thread popped out. I could not see the glob at first and was about to give up, thank goodness for magnifying glasses.

Make sure your bobbin winding spindle on top of the machine has not been pushed into the winding function. That will definitely result in locking up the wheel.

Did you double check to see if that safety lever isn't up in front of the bobbin case? I have not inserted the bobbin all the way and the lever will flip up. It should be in front of the bobbin area.

thank you ladies so much for your help. I did get the wheel off and no strings and yes the bobbin winder was not completely in the off position got that fixed. and the wheel turned, I accidently hit the foot petal and the thread cutter did its job well then it would not go back. and the wheel would not turn the little bar was over the bobbin area. got that fixed and it started sewing. LOL ok not as fast as the rabbit just slow and bam smoke coming from the motor gee whiz scared me stupid. long story sorry my juki has died guess it will need a new motor. if it cause too much will have to get a little cheaper one. sorry for the long story. Be sure your bobbin is a Juki bobbin. A bobbin that has holes all around the casing will cause the thread cutter to jam and freeze the machine. The correct bobbin is very important for the Juki and Brother straight stitch machines that have auto thread cutter.
