My LQS is closed Thanksgiving week and Black Friday but.....
This Thursday, Friday and Saturday they are having a SALE! (this ain't a low end LQS)
Bolt fabrics for $5.99 yard!!! but What I'm excited about is...FAT QUARTERS! If you buy 1 to 24 they are $1.50 each if you buy 25 or more they are only $1 buck! This a good top quality fabric they sell! My only delimma is they are only open 10am to 5pm and I gotta work Thursday and Friday! But Saturday here I come! Do I "need" more fabric, heck no, but I absolutely, ain't no way, I'm can pass on a sale like this! (or any sale for that matter!) I'm a magnet for clearance signs! |
Can you call in sick, or go in just a little late "something personal came up" :0) It would be awful if things were too picked over by the time you can legitimately get there. Then again, maybe being at work is saving you from your bad self. Nothing better than fabric addiction in my book. It even trumps chocolate. Regardless, happy hunting QuiltingKrazy and make sure to share the joy and details.

I agree with SouthPStitches. If you have a personal/vacation time, I would use it for a "me" time (-:
such a great deal! hope you get a lot of what you like
I would want to be there on the first day of the sale ... and find a reason to go to work late or leave early. It would be a mental health issue .. I would go crazy thinking about what I might be missing out on.
Sales are what "sick days" are for, unless you have a really understanding boss....:)
What a wonderful sale. It would be so hard to resist.
Go for it and have fun :)

Wow you have a great fabric store even the $5.99 and the FQ price is out of this world. Here in Fl. the LQS's chg from $2.50 to 3.50 for a FQ and fabric by the yard is at least $10.00. So I think I would be there when they opened the first day either a mental hlt couple of hrs or day or and understanding boss would be good. I think by the 2nd day it'll all be gone or picked over. Good Luck. Let us know. Thanks . Sue

wow! my LQS never has sales. I miss I could get those fat quarters. take that sick day, because by Sat. everything will be gone.
That is a great sale....but remember FQs can be cut from remaining stock in the shop if the pile runs low on Thurs and Friday. There should be no reason why they wouldn't have FQs. Call them and ask if you're concerned.
My LQS will cut you a FQ from their bolts if that's all you want is a FQ...even when there's not a sale going on. They just put the other FQ into the FQ cabinet. |
Go the day before and pick out what you want. See if they will hold until Sat. If not, see what you want and go on your lunch time to buy.
I think I feel an illness coming on.. "cough-cough" OR an morning appt and can't make it to work until noon! Here is what was in the email I received....
"Lots and Lots of fat quarters have been pulled for this special!! Also in the Pfaff Shop...........Books and Patterns..........Buy one get the second one free..........equal or lessor value. Please buy them ALL so we don't have to count them for our year end inventory count!!!!! Last year we still had over 8,000 fat quarters! Wonder where they all were??? Doesn't seem like we have that many until the counting starts!!! What will be marked down?? Moda.... Florals....... Thimbleberries....... Reproductions......Christmas and more (and anything I feel like marking down) LOL!!!!!! I will be going around the shop and green tagging...........Wed night!!! Sale starts Thursday...........come early (10am) so you get the best selections........... we will be ready for you!!!!!" |

Great thought. But I've been at sales where they won't cut FQ's because they're so busy with the sale.

I can see it now, QuiltingKrazy is "volunteering her services" after she calls in sick, and who walks into the shop but her boss, a co-worker, or the boss' significant other. I ALWAYS get caught if I'm not where I'm supposed to be, but life is too short so take a walk on the wild side. For those of us that can't attend the sale, we're counting on living vicariously through you.
That's my thought, getting "caught"! Well it would be getting caught spending money I really shouldn't on fabric I really don't need.... according to my DH that is....I have a jar of coins just sitting in my sewing room for a rainy day and it has been pouring here today so..... I'll post pictures it I make it!
I hope it isn't a requirement to NEED the fabric when we buy it!:)
