My machine did that. I was sewing along and all of a sudden...nothing. I turn off and on, off and on, hit the top, did a little shaking and then I discovered that my plug had come loose from the machine just enough to break the connection.

I was just going to say is it all plugged in.

It was plugged in enough that the light was on. I'll definitely look at the wiring going into the foot pedal though. I didn't get anything basted like I wanted to today. Just didn't feel well. Tomorrow, basting, then machine quilting. I want to get that sucker shipped off. Will do a simple cross hatch. Hoping the machine doesn't act up, I'll let you know.

You said you cleaned it, oiled it and let it set for a while. I think that is your answer. You fixed it.

Contrary to popular opinion, machinery (ie, sewing machines) have feelings. If you cuss them out, they get their feelings hurt, and hesitate to do anything right. If you talk sweetly to them, they purr like a kitten. You said you machine is 7 yrs old....that's 7 HUMAN years. In a machine, that's 56 yrs old....menopause. In this case, your machine will be contrary, opinionated and downright onery. Threatening it with the manual or replacement tends to straighten them out for a while. If it starts acting up again, offer it a drink......but don't be surprised if it spits at you................ just a thought.........good luck!

I really hope that's the answer. I didn't know what else to do with it. I usually oil it every other bobbin change. And I brush the lint out every bobbin change. I don't know what happened.

I think it's the foot petal not sending the signal to sew. My Singer did the same thing and it was the foot pedal. I found one on Ebay pretty cheap to see if that was the problem and it was.

It's still doing it. I put my foot on the pedal and it hesitates big time. Then when it starts, it'll sew a handful of stitches and stop. I pushed on the wires as best I could and it all looks like everything is connected correctly. I'll probably have to take it to the shop to see if it's the foot pedal or something else.
