I picked up a baby quilt from the LA and she left a self-binding edge for me to finish. While cutting the batting away from the binding I cut into the binding in two places.
Ouch!!!
Is there anyway to repair this? When I fold the binding over
you can see the cut places, each is about 1/4 inch wide, but
its very noticeable. Please help!

oh bummer. I would use some fusible webbing or a light weight fusible interfacing on the wrong side of the binding. Then on the right side of the fabric you might try stitching or embroidering a small something like a heart or flower, probably in the same color as the fabric so it doesn't jump out at you

I would contact your LA and see if she will give you some of the binding material so that you could splice into existing binding.

I Hate that when it Happens (I'm sure mistakes have happen to all of us). Good luck, I'm sure it will look fine. :D

You might try June Tailor Fray Block. It says it is washable maybe you can sort of glue it together with it. I guess it is worth a try. I'm sure someone will have a better idea.

I would cut it off and do a separate binding...

Especially if the binding is narrow, this would be my choice.

I believe self-binding edge means that its the fabric from the back of the quilt. You trim the batting and the top but leave the backing uncut. Then fold it over to the top to create the binding.

Just did this on a last pierce of sashing. I fused a lightweight interfacing on the wrong side, and then I used Fray Check over the cut just for extra protection. It seems to be working just fine.
