Ladyjanedoe 01-28-2011 05:29 PM

It's a featherweight explosion!! Congrats!

mimom 01-28-2011 05:31 PM

I have seen many of these posted, will you actually use it or is it just for decoration?

Shelbie 01-28-2011 05:40 PM

This is a lovely machine but it is not a featherweight. If you look up the serial number from your machine on the Singer site (Date your Singer) you'll find out what it is. It could be a 99K which is a three quarters sized machine but considerably heavier than a featherweight. Featherweights usually were portable machines (small black suitcase type case) because of the extension of the machine bed which only fit in a specially designed cabinet. Few of these cabinets were made and they are difficult to find. I have the card table for mine and have been hunting for the cabinet for years. Your machine looks to be in great shape and I hope you enjoy stitching on it.

I will probably it once or twice but I really bought it for decoration. My grandmother had one of these when I was little and it was destroyed in a flood. Ever since I have always wanted one. I was so glad that I found this one even if I do not use it, I like the warm feeling of remembering my grandmother.

It is not a featherweight. Someone mistook it for one.

neece 01-28-2011 05:42 PM

After using it once or twice, I bet it becomes your 'numero uno'!!!!

It isn't a 99 and it isn't a 319. What are the numbers or letters under the stitch length indicator? It is beautiful whatever it is, but I have never seen one like it. Maybe a 101?

wolph33 01-28-2011 05:47 PM

wow great machine

annieshane 01-28-2011 05:47 PM

You are in for a surprise. Probably will be hooked right away when you see the beautiful stitches. If you don't, you will still have the warm fuzzys of remembering your Granny. That is enough! Love my FW stitches. Packed up my Kenmore and set my Brother up for embroidery. Having a ball, got 2 machines going at one time.

PBCHRETIEN 01-28-2011 05:50 PM

It's a 206K. From Germany and it is in mint condition. The lady no longer had the power cord. But I do have Billy trying to get me one.

KiwiQuilter 01-28-2011 05:56 PM

Fabulous machine :)

pab58 01-28-2011 05:57 PM

Little Diva is quite the diva!!!

leaha 01-28-2011 05:58 PM

oh super congrats! she is lovely

vintagemotif 01-28-2011 06:18 PM

Congrats! You have a Singer that is a zig-zag machine. Just make sure you have the correct needles. I think they take the 206x13 needles.

cabbagepatchkid 01-28-2011 06:19 PM

Oh, she is a beauty!!! Congratulations

littlehud 01-28-2011 08:56 PM

She is a beauty. Congrats on your new addition.

PunkQuilter 01-28-2011 09:05 PM

Very nice!

LAB55 01-28-2011 09:09 PM

I have one something like it sitting on the floor in my dinning room. The electrical cord was cut off & foot pedal & manual missing. I have serial # , but never looked it up. Wish it had a cabinet for it. I have never used a Singer

tjradj 01-28-2011 09:12 PM

What a doll! Definitely a Diva!

sueisallaboutquilts 01-28-2011 09:40 PM

She's a beauty!! Put her to work! Those old Singers are wonderful :D:D:D

makakehau 01-28-2011 10:19 PM

I am guessing it's a Singer model 319.
Here is a website that will help you identify your
machine.
http://www.sandman-collectibles.com/...machines.htm#8
Whatever she is, she's a beauty. I have a real soft spot
for old Singer machines.
Enjoy!

Lori (makakehau)

P.S.
After you identify her, you can get a FREE manual from Singer:
