I was given that same seam ripper as a gift and just love it. not more using my nails to get the threads. I just love it. and the colors of your quilt also.

Fons and Porter red and cream big handle seam ripper pulls out the threads too. It works great. When the quilt shops has the new seam ripper I'll buy it too.

I saw that little gizmo demonstrated at the LQS and thought it was a bit over-priced. I guess if I had that much ripping it would be a bargain. Your quilt is going to be so pretty and I'm looking forward to seeing the end result.

Thanks to all of you for your positive feedback. I cannot take credit for these beautiful colors as I bought a 2.5" strip packaged set at my LQS. I loved the ease of this "chevron-style" pattern and it was fairly easy to put together. However, I did make a huge error and it cost me quite a bit of waste. Not even sure exactly where I went wrong but if you do this quilt, I suggest that you pay close attention to your beginning pieces. Make sure they are in the correct configuration. I believe that what happened to me was that I had theses pieces up on my design "board" and in order to get the whole row on I started quite high. High enough that I had to use a step ladder and I believe that I couldn't really see where my last few rows should start. I believe that they needed to be a row higher. Once you get going incorrectly, the whole row is wrong.

The quilt turned out really pretty nontheless and I love it. Thanks again. Yolanda Wood River
