The new board is 22" x 62." The picture shows the velcro strap attaching the new board to the old one. It works great!

Thank you for posting the directions for the large ironing board. Being I don't have a DH I made one myself. Works great and wonder how I've put up with the regular ironing board all these years. The only drawback was that I had to rearrange my sewing room to have room for it. I told my sister about it now she wants to see it.

Thanks for the idea! Here's mine . . . just finished this afternoon . . .

I'm going to have DH put some nails or hooks of some kind on the wall, so when I need to store it, I can hang it on the wall.

Sometimes, size does matter.

When I wrote about putting the new board over the old board, I didn't say that the old board is really very old. You can tell, since it's wooden tho. My Mom and Dad got it for a wedding shower gift and they celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary this year. The old ironing board still works and it's always set up, so I don't move it around hardly ever or fold it up. My Dad was surprised I still had it and used it. It's so heavy he said, but that part doesn't matter to me.

Oooh! I'm bookmarking this, for the day when I actually have a sewing room of my own.
