I was given a wooden TV tray on Tuesday, and tonight I turned it into an ironing board courtesy of the postings on the Quilting Board. I used a layer of warm and natural scrap and some other batting peice that looks like warm and natural but is white and then a double layer of flannel fabric all of it was from that fabric stash I got recently. So the total cost of the ironing table ZERO NADA. My neighbor even let me borrow her staple gun WITH STAPLES. lol

My husband doing the last of the stapling...man that thing is hard to use.

You go girl! Now that's a true quilter. Want one? Make one! Grrr! Very cool. Doesn't it feel great when it's so great and it's zero/nada. Good job!

Yep. Now...what should we invent now?

I have an old wooden typewriter table, I bet I can do that to the table and create a small ironing board, thanks for the idea.

I love it! I want one too- I will have to keep my eyes open for one at my local Goodwill. What a good idea!

HeHe...I love it when someone shares an idea and others make use of them. Just think with one of these you wouldnt have to get up to iron all those strips lol. But you still do need to get up and stretch your body.

I got a new Craftman staple gun for Christmas in my stocking. It's super easy to use and I use that thing all the time for something.

i gave away a set of very heavy wooden t.v. tables. should have kept one!!

valsma 05-19-2011 06:28 AM

I have a wood tv tray that one of the folding areas split when I was folding it. I will have to glue it and don't think it will fold when I glue it. This is the perfect thing to use it for. The would fit great right next to my sewing table for pressing those seams while peicing.
