Here is a link to the craigslist add with the pictures: http://austin.craigslist.org/atq/2471608817.html

I am super exicted to be picking it up wednesday night! Hubby has already said he will refinish the cabinet for me. Then we will look to see if we can get the machine running. For $25 the cabinet alone is a great steal, as I have been drooling over getting one as a display piece for the living room.

What a nice machine you're getting.
I love those old drawers, they were very well made. When you look at new furniture's drawers the difference is amazing. A lot of it is pressed sawdust and glued together.

A carpenter friend told us many years ago that we should buy used furniture and refinish it because it will outlast us. The stuff stores were selling in the 70s was so bad it would look crappy before we even got it paid for. So we either got old family or used furniture or built it ourselves. Still have a lot of it the kids didn't want or have room for.

BrendaK 07-12-2011 07:01 PM

Congrats that looks super. Have fun putting it together. BrendaK

Ha! Got a chuckle out of this reply. My hubby and I do not even change a light bulb together! LOL

Needlegrammy 07-13-2011 04:50 AM

Great find !!!

Kkimberlee 07-13-2011 05:36 AM

Not sure that we will refinish it 'together', but at least he will help if I get stuck or do it himself. We both tend to be hardheaded, LOL!

Great-great granny 07-13-2011 05:40 AM

Morning Kimberlee - happy to see you get this, I had seen it on craigslist the other day & would have loved to have it, but I don't have a 'honey-dooer' to finish it for me (& now I'm no longer physically to take on a task like this.)

Will be anxious to see the finished project - bet it will be a beauty.

Also there are a few quilters from this msg. board meeting in Buda this Sat. for lunch & a "Shop Hop" @ B & B shop there, organized by bebe on here. Kinda short notice if you hadn't see it before, but would love to have you join us if you can make it.

Here is the link to the info:

Have a blessed day & may all your quilts be filled w/love.
