Pfaff, in my opinion are the best. I have owned them for over 30 years and had no problems. What a generous lady you found as a Pfaff dealer. Enjoy your new machine and friend.

What a beautiful story. So happy for you in finding your new machine. Sandra's story of giving should be shared with the media who focus on negative news all the time. Love of mankind still reigns.

jackifaller 03-24-2011 05:33 AM

WOW, let everyone close to you know about this great lady and her shop. :-)

I feel truly blessed yesteray as I had one of those days that so rarely happens.
I decided to call a few sewing machine shops having narrowed my choice to a pfaff. I want to keep my husqvarna designer 1 as I love the embroidery but would like dedicated machine for quilting.
Lots of people seem to love the IDT and having tried it I was smitten.
One of the Pfaff dealers, about 70 miles away said she had quite an old machine with IDT in good condition that I might be interested in and could have for $400 so off I went to check it out...the journey took me well over an hour. When I got there she said she was so glad that I had arrived because one of the ladies from her quilt class had literally come in whist I was travelling down and bought a brand new quilt expression 4, trading in her Select 3.0 that she had bought from them just last year. The Select 3.0 was in perfect condition, and looked brand new
Then she said as I had travelled so far would I like it for $425 and she would give me a quater inch foot, open toe and some threads as it had originally come with them as a free gift....I couldn't believe it.....I jumped at it as it really is a lovely machine but had been out of my budget new.
Then we got chatting and I told her I was in the middle of doing a very quick single quilt to send to Japan via our quilt club this week. She asked me to wait five minutes and disappeared into the back of her shop. When she returned her arms were full with quilts....demonstration quilts...which she gave me to take to my quilt group to be sent to Japan.........What a truly wonderful lady....I cannot believe that one telephone call could give me such a wonderful day.....I am calling my new machine Sandra after her.......and it sews beautifully

Great story. You were meant to go there at just that time.

JADE D 03-24-2011 07:24 AM

O.K. I'm dumb. What does IDT mean?

matraina 03-24-2011 07:36 AM

How heartwarming. Did you tell her you were naming the machine after her?

JanieH 03-24-2011 07:57 AM

What a great blessing! I think quilters have to be among the most generous people in the world!

Billyjo5 03-24-2011 08:30 AM

This is truly a wonderful story, but . . .ummmm . . . .what is an IDT?

PieceandLuv 03-24-2011 09:24 AM

bless her........

My time 03-24-2011 09:36 AM

What a good story thanks for sharing, and congratulations on your new machine!

azdesertrat 03-24-2011 09:39 AM

IDT Is intgrated Dual Feed it means it takes all the material under the foot thru at the same time.so if you have a quilt and you engage the IDT it will pull all 3 layers thru at the same time(sometimes it doesnt always work that way, there mught be a slight shift in the fabric.

grandjan 03-24-2011 09:45 AM

How wonderful for you! And what a nice story. Enjoy your new machine.

Ziva 03-24-2011 09:50 AM

Sandra is really a generous and caring lady. May God bless her too.

decky 03-24-2011 12:29 PM

Just proves that there are some wonderful people in the world. We usually hear about all the bads ones and not like this lady and also your group for making quilts to send to Japan.

JillC 03-24-2011 12:47 PM

That is fabulous. She needs to be commended for her generosity.

It is more common for people to be kind and caring and we need to spread the word.

shouldn't be the ner- do well's and nit wit's that get the attention.

MDMPanther 03-24-2011 01:12 PM

Wow...I am such a believer that everything happens for a reason and you were so meant to be in that shop to get your new machine and those (I am sure) beautiful quilts to be sent to Japan!!!
