I just located my paperwork. I paid $1,699.99 in Sept of 1997. I just tried to update prior reply, but it won't let me as time has expired. My Rose was replaced in 1999 after having had the pressor foot spring replaced four times.

I have the Viking Lily #555 which is the Rose minus the embroidery....and she was more than the $600 new. Love this machine. The best buttonholes in the world, if you ever have the need for them. I just wish that she was a bit faster....seems like it takes forever to finish a long seam. |
I think the only mistake you made was not gettig the serger also.
