This is the next quilt I am making. My strips ended going up and down instead of crosswise. Is going really slow because the pattern said to cut all pieces 3-7/8" then put together pieces and make across and sew 1/4" from line. All the pieces are off so have to recut them all. Like I said it is slow going but is still winter here in MN.

The size will be queen size. There are going to be 120 blocks. Then I will add an inch or so of the black and white around the quilt and then add a wider of the black and red.

I had a heck of a time trying to post just this one block. I am going to purchase a cell phone that takes pictures and can hook up to the PC. Will be hard to get the finished quilt in the scanner. HAHA

Okay, stupid question here ... if they are all cut with the same orientation, why would it make a difference in the end? I can understand if some were cut this way and some were cut the other way. Am I missing something?

Susan, I wanted all the stripes to go in the same direction. Either the stripes go to the middle, or run parallel with the middle. Eye candy.

Susan, Are you talking about that all the pieces are off? Well, the one center piece is 3-1/2" square and the ones all around it have to be the same. So, I have to make sure all the squares are 3-1/2" square. I was so sure I was cutting and sewing accurately, but guess not.

I see what you mean. The BOM I am doing has directional fabric, and mine aren't all going the same direction. I can't figure out how to do that. I am going to ask my LQS lady how she does it.
