I had placed an order from HF, it was the rotary blades. They were on back order and shipped off on the 28th. For some odd reason they sent them Fed Ex. I live in Eastern Az. The blades got to Pheonix, took 2 days and was transfered to reg mail. Went to my Post office. Now my po still has not gotten to them. Today is the 5th.
We live in a small town, and our po has 5 or 6 folks there.
The po office wants more money, but, what about our mail?
I feel sometimes it is like a pony express operation.
Sorry, I just had to vent, glad I don't need the blades this minute.

craftybear 10-05-2010 11:14 AM

did you call the post office? I hope you get them soon, please let us know

sharon b 10-05-2010 11:16 AM

Fedex has a deal with the Post office now - where they work hand in hand- but it is a cheaper shipping way for the business owner. Sadly what they didn't tell you was that once the PO gets it - it becomes like a parcel post delivery so it does take more time .

Just remember good things come to those that wait

Try ebay or one of the online sewing / quilting sites. Clotilde, Nancys Notions etc. the are good deals and Mail them thru US Mail. Usually get mine very fast. The last batch I bought off of ebay and go then in three days. Sorry you had a problem!

EagarBeez 10-05-2010 12:20 PM

it's not HF, it's the US post office, my DH copied from the internet, the info from both the PO and Fed Ex. The PO told him it was given to Fed Ex

merrylouw 10-05-2010 12:34 PM

You might call FedX and tell them the problem you're having with the PO. They might be able to help you intervene with the PO.

Fed EX? Just call it Fed! Ain't no Express there!

Are some finally getting their back orders then? Mine are supposed to be another 3-4 wks. And the lady that suggested other sites: Its all about the price! But you can get lucky on
E-Bay

amandasgramma 10-05-2010 01:29 PM

The worst mail service I've ever gotten was in Quartzsite!!!!! Good luck!

Yellow Bird 10-05-2010 01:33 PM

I believe it is dishonest for a vendor to charge for Fed Ex, etc and have the item passed off the post office. The time issue is the biggest rip off.

yes, some of the back orders are going out. They sent me a notice that, I had to return the card if I wanted to wait any longer. I went to the site and it said my order shipped, money was taken from my checking and I have been tracing it. It's suppose to be in my home town, so perhaps tomorrow.
Oh, yea, the card did say that the orders were being sent, first come, first serve

IrishNY 10-05-2010 02:16 PM

I got mine yesterday. I ordered in mid August, I think.

virtualbernie 10-05-2010 05:09 PM

I get a lot of packages delivered by the post office through FedX. Pisses me off cause it takes longer to be delivered then if they just shipped through the post office! My blades are being shipped via FedX/PO...been traveling since September 28th and not scheduled for delivery until the 7th.

Norene B 10-05-2010 05:11 PM

I had a package that came that way one time. I went to post office and picked it up once I found out where it was.

costumegirl 10-05-2010 05:18 PM

Wow that is definitely 'snail mail'!! Maybe the vendor didn't know that it would be passed off to the PO and just expected FE to deliver?

EagarBeez 10-06-2010 05:48 AM

HF does not allow po as main addy, you have to put the main addy and PO. I have a PO which I receive mail

mom-6 10-06-2010 05:52 AM

So did you give them your home address or a PO Box?
I know UPS will not ship to PO Boxes, not sure about Fed Ex.

Carol's Quilts 10-06-2010 06:13 AM

I had a bad shipping experience, too. I ordered ink cartridges for my printer from Epson (the manufacturer). It saved me from driving for an hour getting to and from the store and what's better than having it delivered to my door? It was free shipping and the ink was cheaper than in the store. I think the carrier was UPS. Anyway, there's some new kind of shipping deal they have where UPS carries the package until they get to your local area then it goes to your post office and your mailman delivers it. When the pkg. didn't come and didn't come, I started tracing it and found out that after being trucked from one UPS place to another, it got stuck at a UPS place in Mississippi for 7 days - it just sat there! Epson shipped it the same day they got my order (via the internet) and it took 15 days before I received it! I received no satisfaction from UPS and the post office couldn't do anything. Epson promised to send me a free cartridge for my "inconvenience" which they never did. If they had told me free delivery would take 2 weeks, I wouldn't have had a problem. But I've ordered from Epson before and always had delivery within 3-4 days. This was absolutely ridiculous! Next time I need ink, I think I will just take the hour, drive to the store and pay more for it. At least I'll get it a whole lot sooner!

EagarBeez 10-06-2010 06:38 AM

I gave both, but had to list the street address first

costumegirl 10-06-2010 06:52 AM

Carol- what a mess up!

Norene B 10-06-2010 07:55 AM

I have no PO Box, just street address.

Bobbin along 10-06-2010 08:34 AM

I ordered from HF in mid August and finally recieved my 10 2/pk's just yesterday. They came the FedEx/USPS method and it did take longer to get here after they were shipped than FedEx promised, but they DID get here and I am so thrilled with all the $$$ i saved. Patience pays --especially when it comes to rotary blades!

Fed Ex is the worst. They can't read either. I had a package, (glucose Meter) sent to me Fed Ex, I didn't get it when expected so I called them, they checked with the drive and he said "oh yes I delivered it". He even drove past the house to besure. Dumb driver, my address is 412, and he delived it to 421. I got it two weeks later when the people came home from vacation. Good thing it wasn't my insulin. I never ever order Fed Ex if I don't have to.

Ida 10-06-2010 01:36 PM

I always just have shipped USPS. My son received a package yesterday from Overstock, which was shipped UPS. He didn't get home until after 9pm. UPS had simply left it on the door step. He lives in a Condo where anyone could take it. That is what I don't like about UPS. I have never had a problem with FedEx, but haven't used recently.

It sounds to me, from what my niece said, that shipping is high when you order from HF. I will try and stop there when I next go to town.

amandasgramma 10-06-2010 01:42 PM

I've only had one problem with UPS or Fedex. UPS deliver my meds to another house --- unfortunately it was a house with teenagers of questionable honesty. Fortunately, mom got home before the kids and brought it over. I worked my way thru their phone system and talked to a manager. He said he'd have a talk with the delivery guy....that it was unacceptable. Since then we've had excellent service.

EagarBeez 10-06-2010 02:48 PM

Here it is Wednesday and still not delivered. The post office told my DH today, that they can take up to 5 days. It's there in the post office why not just hand it over.
It's not like the PO is overrun, they have 5 or 6 tellers, they don't put our mail out until 1 pm. However, we have to allow them time for driving since they come from Pheonix.
I just checked the Fed Ex site, says out for delivery, but, not delivered yet. Tomorrow comes another day. I hear they are worth the wait
