My Quilting Material

Dear Friends

Over the Weekend I dumped my big bag of scrappy material onto m bed, separated the big pieces from the smaller size pieces of material and etc. Than I went through and I either cut up the material into strips or 3 inch size squares and ironed them as well. I have some material to do yet as far as cutting up from my Bag but I am getting real close in getting this done. My scrappy material for my Spider Web Quilt is almost gone. I have used up just about all of my scrappy material that I had in my Scrappy Material Bag.

My Quilting Corner is looking so much better since I have been going through my material, cutting it up and putting them into my Spider Web Quilt Project Plastic Container with snap lid and carrying handle.

Before I started this all of the material was on my floor next to my sewing table. My Quilting Corner is not that way anymore. Yeah! It looks so much better now.

I have my good pretty material for my Quilts under my Sewing Table and I have all kinds of ideas for that too but I am trying to finish my Spider Web Quilt first before I tackle another Quilt.

I have one more Triangle to make for my 15th Block and than I will be able to make my Spider Web Quilt Block.

Happy Quilting

I have large laundry bin I throw all fabric scraps into. I seldom use out of it though. When it gets full I take it to guild and dump it out on a table and everyone helps themselves. Funny I see some of my same scraps coming back in someone's scrap bin purge! A few times I see some of the fabric scraps used in a quilt.

I try to use up all of my material that I have one way or the other. That is funny though that some of your scraps ends up in somebody's else's scrap bin. Too bad we don't live close by cause I would take some of your fabric scraps.

Happy Quilting

I cleaned up my scraps and put them into strips and squares. What a nice look it gave my stash. I am trying to keep up that momentum. I am also using remaining fabric from quilts in designs on the back of the quilts. I am loving the look and the lack of leftovers!

That sounds like a great idea - to use them on the back of your quilts as well. I never thought of that. Thanks for the idea....

Getting organized is such a morale booster! I love taking a few days to go through scraps and fabrics I know I won't use, and cutting them into squares and strips for later scrap quilting. Then the scrap quilting is ready to roll!

I am soooo jealous. Wish my sewing area was like that.

I have also been cutting my scraps into squares and strips.Things are looking better in my sewing room.I recently got the book Nickle Quilts and I hope to make some of those in the near future.I have been working on a pineapple quilt with the 1" strips I cut several years ago. Wow that one takes some time. It will be very warm cause as small as the pieces are the fabric is sort of doubled. And the strips aren't really getting used up. So I think I will try a log cabin next. That's a lot of work also, but maybe the strips will get used up after 2 quilts.

I use my GO to cut up all my usable scraps. Once my box is filled I get it all ironed and start cutting. Well on my way to scrappy quilts.
