I paid 50 cents this old sewing kit. The needles have been there so long that they have left rust on the fabric. The spools are wooden. I couldn't pass it up even tho it is not usable. It will make a nice decoration for my sewing area. I couldn't find a date on it. :(

I'm dating myself but I can remember when most spools were wooden...the transition was just beginning.

My Mom used to carry one of those kits in her purse back in the 70's. It was handy if you lost a button or had a rip in your clothing.

My dad had one of these in his desk. Handy! I love finding stuff like this. The only problem is the space to store them!
