I've seen it before, but I may have to pick one up.

I have been using the Gypsy Cutting Gismo all morning as I was chain sewing. I LOVE that tool! It is a real time saver!

i made my own also. Glued a seam ripper in a large spool, glued the spool to a block of wood and voila! I did snip the sharp pointed end off so that the sides were the same . have used it for years.

My friend's husband loves working with wood and he made dozen's of these with his wood scraps ... and my friend gives them as gifts. I LOVE mine!

A bit on the pricey side!!! It reminds me of some of the letter openers that are given away as promotional items. The only difference would be you would need to make a stand for it.

I discovered this concept in a "quilting tips" list somewhere a few years ago. To make your own (though not as stable,) just stick a seam ripper -- ripper end up -- into the hole in a big spool. I use it all the time and save money by not purchasing yet another gadget.

I am putting this on my wishlist.

I don't want to rain on your parade. :(

I use the letter opener which was free from my insurance agent. It does save time and energy to use this little razor blade device to clip threads quickly and cleanly. The clipper I have had a gripper area large enough to enclose the agent's business card. I removed the card and inserted a picture of my dear daughter. Now, I see her photo each time I reach for this handy tool. I would say this is my favorite tool! :)

Looked at these before, but to me it is the same as using the cutter on my machine. After chain-stitching everything I can for the project, I stand up and cut them apart on the cutter that is on the back corner of my machine. Forces me to get up and move around.
