I finished quilting my first ever king size quilt Tuesday night.:thumbup: I loaded it's sister quilt, a queen, on the frame last night. :thumbup: I tried to start quilting it tonight, but the needle won't move. :eek: I tried turning it manually, but it is jammed but good. :eek: I can not figure out what would cause an issue like like overnight. When I finished on tuesday I turned the wheel just a little to raise the needle--shouldn't matter. Should it? But, I noticed some stuck threads in the bobbin area tonight. I removed them. :) no change :thumbdown: I removed the feed dog cover plate thing and I cannot see anything. Not even a lint ball! I am pretty careful to clean and oil her. I feel like a have injured a friend, it seems silly.:o

I'm just so sad

I have had one tiny piece of thread get itself wrapped around in the bobbin area causing my both my old Euro Pro and my newish Elna to lock up. My Voyager hasn't done it yet but I'm sure the day will come.

I had this problem as well with my Voyager - DH can fix a rainy day I think - he came to my rescue. Seems as if my oil holes were "plugged". Several of the hols, when I put oil in them, just puddled on top and then slowly sunk in. Now that he has worked on it, the oil drops disappear immediately. The machine (knock on wood) works perfectly now.

Oh my , having issues with our equipment is always so frustrating. I do hope you are up and running again very soon. Issues always seem to happen when I am highly motivated to get something done.

Was going to take Big Girl to the shop on Saturday, my DH was going out of town Sunday morning. The repair man wasn't in and the lady didn't know if he works on the V17. I was told to call Monday and find out. I came home frustrated and discouraged. But, I got to thinking..just a tiny bit of thread. So, I put a bunch of oil in the bobbin area and got it to turn just a tiny little bit. Put some more oil on, and it turned just a little bit more. So, I put a bunch more on and strong armed the machine. I think it was the same "this hurts me more than it hurts you" speech we all heard.

It Worked!! Big Girl is happy and buzzing right along again!

When my quilting long arm gets stuck and I can't move the fly wheel by hand because the strength is all gone in my hands I use one of those automotive wrenches used to change oil filters to grab the wheel.
