Just turned 50 and have been coloring and highlighting my hair for the last 30 years and now I DONE!!! I have decided to let it go natural colur which is a medium brown with grey through sides and top. I'm so tired of every 6 weeks ether going to hairdresser or picking colour from a box. I have really been watching movies, TV, magazines and just people around me and I'm totally amazed by the amount of people just letting their natural colour show, no matter what colour it is.
I actually can't wait for my "new" colour and I'm getting a new fresh fun hairstyle to go with it.
Sometimes, you just can't worry about what everyone else is going to think and do what's right for yourself. I actually will feel "free" from my hair for the first time!!! LOL

I would like to not dye my hair, but the gray makes me look about 30 years older than I am. I said,'I don't mind looking 85 if I am 85'! LOL Maybe I'm too sensitive about it.

I am 39 and I have a few gray hairs. The lady who cuts my hair thinks I should get high lights. I don't care about coloring it or putting high lights in it. It seems to be to much work. Would much rather be quilting. :-D

My friends were laughing and plucking gray hairs out of my head when I was 17 !! I've colored it for decades, but recently decided to let it grow out...it is coming in mostly white!! I am only 52! Haven't decided if I like it yet...but I have decided that I love the freedon of not having to dye it every few weeks!

Hang in there and don't dye. Mine is all white now and I get more nice remarks about it than what I did when I died it.

No more dying hair for me either. More silver than gray here and like you say our complexion changes as we age. Now just a little blush is more important than hair color.

I started turning gray when I was in my 30s and it is now a beautiful silver. I went through periods of coloring it and then decided it was too much trouble. Many yrs ago when it was in it's natural state someone was complimenting me and asked me if I paid to have it done like that. I responded, "Oh, did I ever!" Sometimes I still get the notion that I would like to color it because it seems that my skin and hair are all the same color. But at 70 I guess that's how you look.

When I was in elementary school, the secretary had the most beautiful premature gray hair. She was absolutely gorgeous...inside and out. Loved her! After knowing her, I always hoped that I would have premature gray hair. Guess what...my BROTHER got the premature gray in his 20's. He tried dying his hair once after he overheard one of his elementary aged son's friends asking if that was his grandfather. He didn't like it dyed, so he let it go back gray and just tells people he was 10 years older than he actually is so they think he looks really good for his age. LOL

I am 46 and starting to get a few gray hairs. FINALLY!!! Since I have blonde hair, I just call those platinum blonde. My hair is also long (near my knees). I think gray, silver or white hair is beautiful and will be very happy to let mine go natural. At least the gray has a little more body to it than my blonde does which is straight and fine.

Dying my hair would be too much of a problem. Anyway I look just the way God wants me to look for my age.
