Mystery Quilts

Good Morning quilting friends. I am on the hunt for a good mystery quilt. I volunteered to be in charge of the mystery quilt for our local guild in 2016. If you've done one that you really enjoyed, could you send me a private message? That last thing we want to do here is start naming and posting pictures of mystery quilts! No spoilers here please!!! Also, if you've done one that turned out to be a disaster, that might be good info too :)

Thank you!

Sorry, I have never participated in a mystery quilt. I have seen some ugly ones. I am one of those quilters that just has a hissy fit if something is placed with the wrong fabric. I would go nuts!! There are patterns you can look for that are mystery quilts:

Merry Mayhem used to have mystery quilts. Just google mystery quilts and you should find several. I hope you find a nice one

Bonnie Hunter's starts Black Friday: http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2015/...allietare.html I have not done one of hers, but she has quite a few fans that have!

Bonnie Hunter's are the BEST!!! But her format and timing would not work for our guild. I highly recommend you try one of hers sometime. It is so much fun to follow the online forum, with people posting pictures of their progress!

I just took a look at her Website. Thank you - a definite possibility!

Some designers will let you offer one of their quilts as a mystery quilt. We used one out of a book, with the designers permission, at a shop in MN.

That's a pretty cool idea!

I can't wait to start Bonnie Hunter's Mystery Quilt. Went shopping and got all the fabrics that I didn't already have. This will be the first time actually doing it as the clues are released. I've always done them after the fact. Thanksgiving to Christmas has always been a difficult time of year to do hers, but I'm ready this year. Can't wait.
