THAT IS surprising. It looks too modern for that time frame. Didn't find any info using Google.

Hmm...looks like 4 small blocks make up a ring....like an arc appliqued on the corner of the block, then 4 = circle? Just my guess...

Looks like your quilter chose to do all the quarter blocks alike. Makes me wonder if it might have been intended as a wedding quilt. You are lucky to have it, whatever its story. |
Forgot to say this block is made with curved piecing, not applique. Bet this block would make a gorgeous scrappy quilt! Might have to play around with this one and see what I can come up with! I just love all the antique blocks!

Actually, this could be done with templates...I think it's called back porch...I know I have the set: arcs and filler sides...among my " collection". Did one in batiks scrappy...but circles were broken...modern, for dd.....kinda fun!
