Every time a pattern is published especially in magazines, they rename a block. It's original name is Tennessee Waltz:

I just finished making that quilt. I got the pattern from the May/June 2013 issue of Love of Quilting. The pattern in the magazine was by Liz Porter and she called it Emily's Wedding Quilt, so I guess they renamed it for the website version. It's a combination of 54-40 or Fight blocks and Shoo Fly blocks. Mine is at the quilters -- it's 115" x 115", so I didn't try to quilt it myself. I'll post pictures when I get it back.

Carol, you did a great job on making this quilt; I really like your color choices.
Thanks Girlfriend for the link. |
Really like this quilt, yours is beautiful. Girlfriend thanks for link.

I like the thin red strip with white border mentioned earlier.
Just a white binding would be nice too using deco stitch with variegated thread that has your quilt colors in it. |
You have made a beautiful quilt. I, too, would just bind it in red.

I saw the Fons and Porter TV show where they demonstrated making this quilt. Liz made it for her daughter for a wedding gift, thus the name Emily's Wedding Quilt for her particular version. You did a beautiful job! Love your colors. It's on my bucket list (along with soooo many others). I like the idea of adding a narrow "solid" border to frame the quilt. The one you have in the first picture looks good.

The quilt is beautiful just as it is... not too busy as you have everything broken up with white. It's great.

It is gorgeous.........love your color choices. I like the idea of a narrow border and then white or the blocks framed in white.
