Google image search took me to your picture:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/jessica...n/photostream/ The quilter said it is a log cabin block. The bigger white square is the center of the log cabin with the 4 different colors surrounding it. I see 3 rounds around the center block, then sashing with a cornerstone. |

Kim Diehl, Simple Seasons: Stunning Quilts and Savory Recipes. Pattern is called Taffy Pull. The flicker.com picture in your link has solid white squares, while Kim's pattern appears to have a four patch or longer strip lengths in place of the large white square.

Looks like courthouse steps to me, I believe Eleanor Burns has a book with the pattern, it is a variation of log cabin

I just watched the video, looks like a great quilt and the way she does it, pretty easy to make.

Courthouse steps does not have the cornerstones. I looked on Quilterscache..and found a tutorial for the main block. I tried to 'see' that block but could not figure out how they got them placed. I was thinking the nine patch was the center, but in THIS quilt, the middle of the nine patch is the sashing...
Please excuse my wiggly lines! The middle of the small nine patch is actually the cornerstone in the sashing...I hope this clears up the confusion. I HAD to figure it out..it was going to HAUNT me all day! I think I now have this on my bucket list. Wouldn't it be a great Christmas quilt? |
